have teamed up to bundle and promote their respective

Microsoft elaborates on Oslo
–Microsoft this week elaborated on plans to preview Oslo
technologies, offering code names and citing the company's DSL
(Domain Specific Languages) concept as a lynchpin of the platform.
With Oslo, Microsoft seeks to provide another layer of abstraction
for developers and make development easier; models become the
applications. Business analysts also could make changes to models.

Red Hat CEO says that money crisis will boost open source
–The global economic crisis will provide a boost for open-source
software. Red Hat chief executive Jim Whitehurst claimed during a visit
to Sydney. Whitehurst, who was in Australia as part of a tour of the
Asia-Pacific region, said in an interview with ZDNet.com.au on Wednesday
that the crisis would cause companies to consolidate their technology
infrastructure and reduce spending.

Lenovo unveils desktop and netbook
–The PC maker announced a new ThinkCentre desktop with added
remote manageability, as well as a low-cost netbook for the education market.
The desktop is expected to start shipping in December, and the netbook
is slated to hit toward the end of November. The company yesterday
also unveiled the ThinkServer line of servers.
